Lauri and I had the opportunity to spend from August 25 through August 31 in Kansas City with Ken and Cydney. It was great fun to go visit them, see their apartment, meet Charlie and hear about what they are doing.
We played a lot of games (video, computer, board, card - you name it) and just enjoyed being together and talking. I think they were worried about entertaining us, but I don't think it was that hard to do. We saw some of the sites in the area, toured the Church History sites (that will be another post), went to a couple of movies (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Mama Mia!), ate some really good food (both at the apartment and at Oklahoma Joe's), and just generally relaxed.

Ken regaling us with a story!
Such a cute dog! Her personality is a riot.
While we were out on the Church History tour, we came upon this intersection and Cydney said it looked like the intersection in "O Brother, Where Art Thou." We talked about how they could have spread gravel for the filming and all agreed.
We drove a half mile further down the road and came on this sign and the house right across the road.
Cydney made Navajo Tacos and breaded fried mushrooms. They were delicious - just like TGI Friday's used to be.

Barbecue at Oklahoma Joe's.
The sky as a storm was gathering. It was more yellow than this shows, and was kind of eerie.
