Night Diving

Last night I went on two night dives. I will post more later, but here is a preview:

Ooh, these are some of the best photos yet. How did the Octopus react to you guys being down there? Do you prefer daytime or night dives now that you have done both?

What a beautiful sunset! Sorry I missed it with you. The colors in the pictures are great. Did you get any of the sharks?

Jes, they try to hide and if you persist in moving and shining the lights on them, they eventually flee. The last one was fleeing.

I don't really have a preference. With the artificial lights and the flash with no ambient light, the colors are so vivid. The reef just lights up. So, for taking photos, night is way better. But the visibility is so good during the day and you see different critters, so I like both.

Lauri, I wish you had been here. It was spectacular. I did not get a photo of the sharks.

Yeah, the second dive that night is now in the top three for sure. I am just not sure whether it is 2 or 3.

Reb, check out the photo in the slideshow for Aug 9. It is the best one I have taken of those urchins yet. During the day, the spines are brilliant red. At night they turn chalky pink. You can really see that in these two photos.
