Ocean Concepts Certification Celebration

Lauri and I went to the Ocean Concepts Certification Celebration this evening. It was a bar-b-que at the Pearl Harbor Store. Those who had certified in any class since June 2009 were eligible for prizes - one for each certification.

We visited and ate and then Jim Byrum started the prize giveaway. My name was the second or third one called for a $25.00 cash prize. I also won the next-to-the-last prize - Divemaster course tuition!

Wahoo!

Beach Sunsets

A few days ago when we came down to enjoy the sunset all we got was big waves. Tonight there are no waves, but the sunset was gorgeous. The company was even better!

Waikiki Waves

Usually the waves on Waikiki are pretty mild, especially in the winter. Occasionally in the summer a big swell comes in from the south, but in March it is a little unusual.

We were down at the beach to enjoy the sunset and got some pretty good photos of waves even though the sunset was a no-show today. The surfers are loving this!

St. Spencer's Day

Ever since Spencer was born, St. Patrick's Day has taken on a new meaning and a new name. This year we gathered at Pirate Island Pizza to celebrate the birthday and the holiday all wrapped in one.

The pirates dropped by to sing to Spencer.

Everyone was getting into the spirit of the day.

After dinner we hit the arcade for some games and fun.

Spencer hit the jackpot!

Picking out the loot!

And then it was back to Grandma's for presents and cake.

Shooting

We all really enjoy going out and shooting. Unfortunately, we don't do it very often. Lately, it seems that Rachel and Cameron are the instigators.

It is getting more and more difficult to find a place where we can shoot, but this hillside south of Saratoga Springs still works. Besides that, the view is gorgeous!

I have some fond memories of shooting clay pigeons with Dave Gordon here. One time we even forgot the clays, but managed to gather up enough unbroken ones on the ground to still have a successful shoot!
